Drill Point Die Specification Chart
ZLD Precision Mold manufactures drill point dies covering the full range of self-drilling screw sizes from IFI #4 to #14 (DIN ST2.9 to ST6.3). Our dies are available in six series — L1 through L6 — each optimized for a specific screw size range and flute depth requirement.
The specification table below maps each drill point die code to its corresponding screw size, drill diameter (Dø), point diameter, wire diameter, flute length, and die style. IFI and DIN header rows identify the screw standard; the drill diameter row shows the exact tip geometry; POINT DIA and WIRE DIA rows define the die contact dimensions; FLUTE LENGTH and DP DIE STYLE rows specify the cold-forging depth and die geometry class.
All ZLD drill point dies are manufactured from premium tungsten carbide (WC) or SKH high-speed steel (M2 / M9 / M51), precision-ground to micron-level tolerances. Optional PVD coating is available for enhanced surface hardness, lubrication, and wear resistance in high-speed production environments.
To select the correct die: first locate your target screw's IFI or DIN designation in the top header rows, then choose the L-series that matches your required flute length and die style (MA for small screws, MB for medium, MC for the largest sizes).
